According to the Millennium objectives, by 2015, universal elementary education should be guaranteed, assuring all children, be they male or female, the possibility of completing elementary school.

Where?
Argentina today finds itself confronting a strong economic crisis that has brought about an increase in unemployment and poverty within the country.  In the project's area, in the city of Rodeo del Medio in the province of Mendoza, the population lives mainly from agriculture in conditions of extreme need.  More than half of the inhabitants have no other option but to count on the small state subsidy to survive.  The children have to work the fields and do not have the possibility of studying and creating a 'better future' for themselves.

What?
The objective is to get books, audio/video equipment, and a computer for the library of the Colegio Maria Auxiliadora in the city of Rodeo del Medio.  This will make it possible to start literature workshops with the intention of developing, for the youngest children, critical thinking skills and the necessary competency to continue studying.  Many children that attend the school find numerous difficulties in developing self-expression and interpersonal expression due to the low propensity toward literature.

For who?
The beneficiaries of the project will be 464 students between the ages of 4 and 14 from the Colegio Maria Auxiliadora.  It is worth noting that approximately half of the students of the Colegio comes from very poor families that have emigrated from Bolivia in search of work.
