6-8 Settembre 2006: la cinquantanovesima conferenza annuale del DPI/NGO

Più di 2,500rappresentanti di Organizzazioni Non-Governative (NGO) ed altri partner della società civile provenienti da più di 90 paesi sono aspettati alla sede delle Nazioni Unite in New York, dal 6 all’ 8 Settembre del 2006, per dibattere sulle vie e i mezzi per rafforzare la collaborazione tra le comunità locali e le istituzioni mondiali.Si incontreranno durante le cinquantanovesima conferenza annuale, intitolata Unfinished Business: Effective Partnerships for Human Security and Sustainable Development.(Business incompiuto: partnership efficienti per la sicurezza umana e lo sviluppo sostenibile)
L’assemblea di tre giorni con le ONG è stata organizzata dal Dipartimento di Informazione Pubblica (DPI) in collaborazione con il comitato esecutivo del NGO/DPI e con la partecipazione delle ONG associate e le ONG che hanno uno status consultativo con il Consiglio Economico e Sociale delle Nazioni Unite. La conferenza si baserà su quello che si è raggiunto grazie alla partecipazione delle migliori ONG e della società civile durante i dibatti svolti dalle Nazioni Unite. incluso le udienze informali ed interattive del presidente dell’assemblea generale con le ONG, la società civile e i rappresentanti del settore privato.
Gli speaker della Conferenza devono illustrare il loro lavoro con esempi reali di partnership efficienti per raggiungere gli Obiettivi di Sviluppo del Millennio (MDGs).

6-8 September 2006: 59th Annual DPI/NGO Conference

More than 2,500 Non-governmental Organization (NGO) representatives and other civil society partners from more than 90 countries are expected to gather at the United Nations headquarters in New York, from 6 – 8 September 2006, to discuss ways and means for strengthening collaboration between local communities and global institutions. They will meet during the 59th Annual DPI/NGO Conference, entitled Unfinished Business: Effective Partnerships for Human Security and Sustainable Development.
The three-day gathering of NGOs is organized by the Department of Public Information (DPI) in cooperation with the NGO/DPI Executive Committee and the participation of its associated NGOs and NGOs that have consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The Conference aims to build on what has already been accomplished by greater NGO and civil society participation in many of the debates taking place at the United Nations, including Informal Interactive Hearings by the General Assembly President with NGOs, civil society and private sector representatives.
Speakers at the Conference are being asked to illustrate their work on the ground by real-life examples of effective partnerships to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
