Forum della Società Civile per lo Sviluppo (Civil Society Development Forum) 2007
Il Civil Society Development Forum 2007 (CSDF) ha rappresentato una fra le maggiori riunioni di Organizzazioni Non Governative (ONG) del 2007 a Ginevra. Organizzata dalla Conferenza delle ONG in Status Consultivo con le Nazioni Unite (CONGO) in cooperazione con la Campagna del Millennio ONU (UNMC) ed altri network, il Forum ha aperto un vero dibattito sull’eliminazione della povertà e focalizzato le sue discussioni sui temi ECOSOC del 2007: crescita a favore dei poveri, povertà e fame. Il CSDF 2007 ha portato oltre 600 persone a pensare al futuro e ad accordarsi, insieme alle Nazioni Unite, sulle priorità da affrontare nell’ampia agenda dello sviluppo.
Il Forum di 3 giorni ha elaborato una serie di specifiche raccomandazioni su ognuno di questi temi – dibattuti attraverso discussioni interattive con i governi che partecipavano ai High-Level Segment (HLS) della Sessione ECOSOC (2-5 July 2007) – e le ha presentate prima dei HLS.
L’ ECOSOC ha adottato la Dichiarazione Ministeriale il 10 luglio dando pieno riconoscimento al Forum della Società Civile per lo Sviluppo.

Civil Society Development Forum 2007
The Civil Society Development Forum 2007 (28-30 June) was one of the largest gatherings of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Geneva in 2007. Organized by the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CONGO) in cooperation with the UN Millennium Campaign (UNMC) and other networks, the Forum sparked a real debate over poverty eradication and focused its discussions on ECOSOC 2007 themes: pro-poor growth, poverty and hunger. The CSDF 2007 brought together over 600 people to think future and together with the UN to jointly agree on priorities in tackling the wider development agenda.
The 3-day Forum elaborated a set of specific recommendations on each of these themes - debated through interactive discussions with governments participating in the High-Level Segment of ECOSOC's Session (2-5 July 2007) - and presented before the HLS.
ECOSOC adopted the Ministerial Declaration on 10 July giving full recognition to the holding of the Civil Society Development.
