UNICEF: I bambini sono le vittime del conflitto nello Sri Lanka
COLOMBO/NEW YORK/ GINEVRA,– Secondo i rapporti avuti, il complesso di Vallipunam nella parte nord del paese è stata bombardata provocando la morte di 40 ragazze adolescenti e il ferimento di 100 bambini.
Questo è il risultato scioccante dell’aumento di violenza nello Sri Lanka, ha dichiarato l’UNICEF oggi.
“Chiediamo a tutte le parti di rispettare la legge umanitaria internazionale e di proteggere i bambini ed i posti dove vivono, studiano e giocano .” ha affermato Veneman, il direttore esecutivo dell’UNICEF.

UNICEF: Children are victims of the conflict in Sri Lanka
COLOMBO/NEW YORK/ GENEVA,– According to press reports, the compound in Vallipunam in the northern part of the country was bombed, reportedly killing as many as 40 adolescent girls. Some 100 children were wounded, many critically.
This is a shocking result of the rising violence in Sri Lanka, UNICEF, said today.
“We call on all parties to respect international humanitarian law and ensure children and the places where they live, study and play are protected from harm.” said Ann M. Veneman, UNICEF Executive Director.
