I fondi Giapponesi aiutano l’Agenzia delle Nazioni Unite per i Bambini a migliorare la sanità nel nord del Sudan
Le mamme e i bambini del nord del Sudan avranno accesso ai vaccini, alle medicine per la malaria ed ad altri servizi di sanità grazie al fondo di $4.5 milioni che le Nazioni Unite hanno ricevuto dal governo Giapponese per incrementare la salute di milioni di persone.
In un paese dove centinaia di bambini al di sotto dei 5 anni muoiono ogni giorno nella sola regione nord del Sudan, il Fondo delle Nazioni Unite per i bambini (UNICEF) ha dichiarato che l’importo migliorerà la salute di 3.5 milioni persone, incluso 700,000 bambini e 400,000 donne incinte.
I fondi saranno anche utilizzati per comprare più di 315,000 zanzariere per le donne incinte e per i bambini. Le zanzariere saranno distribuite nelle zone isolate. Tali zone sono state decise in accordo con il programma del governo nigeriano dell’UNICEF.

Japanese funds help UN children’s agency improve health care in northern Sudan
Mothers and children in northern Sudan will now have access to life-saving vaccines, malaria remedies and other health-care services as the United Nations children’s agency draws on a $4.5 million grant from the Japanese Government to enhance the health of millions of people.
In a country where hundreds of children under the age of five die each day in the northern region alone, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says the grant will ultimately improve the health of 3.5 million people, including 700,000 children and 400,000 pregnant women.
The funds will also be used to buy more than 315,000 nets treated with long-lasting insecticides for pregnant women and young children. The nets will be distributed in isolated and deprived local government areas targeted by the joint UNICEF-Nigerian Government programme.
