50^ Commissione sullo Stato della Donna / 50^ Commission on the Status of Women |
La Commissione delle Nazioni Unite sullo Status della Donna ha concluso la sua 50° sessione con l’adozione di due conclusioni concordate sul decision-making e sullo sviluppo, e ha raccomandato l’adozione delle priorità per il periodo 2007-2009 da parte dell’ECOSOC.
Le priorità sono basate sulla Bejing Platform for Action, ed i temi pattuiti fino al 2009 sono i seguenti:
• Per il 2007: “L’eliminazione di tutte le forme di discriminazione e violenza contro le bambine”
• Per il 2008: “Finanziare l’eguaglianza di genere e l’empowerment delle donne”
• Per il 2009: “La condivisione delle responsabilità tra donne ed uomini, incluse le cure da dare nel contesto dell’HIV/AIDS”
I due testi adottati dalla Commissione contengono conclusioni concordate sulla promozione della uguale partecipazione delle donne a tutti i livelli dei processi decisionali, e sull’incrementare la partecipazione delle donne allo sviluppo.
Nella sua conclusione, il capo della Commissione ha sottolineato i seguenti punti:
• Ha apprezzato il fatto che durante la sessione le delegazioni hanno mostrato una forte volontà politica per migliorare lo status della donna, e hanno mostrato uno spirito di dialogo, consensus e flessibilità
• Ha sottolineato il panel ad alto livello sulla prospettiva di genere nelle migrazioni internazionale e nella Giornata Internazionale della Donna
• Ha accentuato come la risoluzione sui metodi futuri rinforzerà il lavoro della Commissione e darà una chiara prospettiva dei punti che dovranno essere considerati nei prossimi 3 anni.
The Commission on the Status of Women concluded its 50th session with the adoption of two agreed conclusions on decision-making and development, and by recommending its priority themes for the period 2007-2009, for adoption by the Economic and Social Council.
The Priority themes based on the Beijing Platform for Action and agreed upon until 2009 are as follows:
• For 2007: “The elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child”
• For 2008: “Financing for gender equality and the empowerment of women”
• For 2009: “The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men, including care giving in the context of HIV/AIDS”
The two texts adopted by the Commission contain agreed conclusions on promoting equal participation of women in decision-making processes at all levels, and enhancing participation of women in development.
In her closing remarks, the chair of the Commission underlined the following points:
• She praised the fact that during the session the delegations had shown a strong political will to advance the status of women, and a spirit of dialogue, consensus and flexibility
• She highlighted the high-level panel on the gender perspective in international migration and the International Women’s Day
• She stressed that the resolution on the future methods of work would strengthen the work of the Commission and provide a clear view of the items to be considered over the next three years |
