Ha inizio l’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite
Ogni anno, nel mese di settembre, i capi di Stato di tutto il mondo si incontrano a New York per due settimane per prendere parte al dibattito generale che da inizio alla sessione dell’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite.
Il dibattito del 2006 comincia il 19 settembre, e per dieci giorni più di 80 capi di Stato e di Governo parteciperanno all’Assemblea.
Alcuni dei temi che saranno affrontati quest’anno riguardano la questione del Darfur, il conflitto in Medio Oriente, l’ HIV/AIDS, lo sviluppo, e anche della nomina del nuovo Segretario Generale.

United Nations General Assembly Begins
Every year in September, the leaders of the world gather for two weeks in
New York for the general debate, which kicks off the United Nations
General Assembly session.
The 2006 debate begins on 19 September, and over the course of ten days, more than 80 Heads of State and Government will address the Assembly. Some of the themes to be debated include the issue of Darfur, the Middle East conflict, HIV/AIDS, development, as well as the selection of the next Secretary-General.
