Le Nazioni Unite lanciano un nuovo servizio umanitario aereo nella Repubblica Centrafricana
Le Nazioni Unite oggi hanno lanciato un nuovo servizio umanitario aereo nella Repubblica Centrafricana per aiutare le agenzie umanitarie a raggiungere circa un milione di persone colpite dalla violenza nel nord del Paese.
Il servizio aereo, gestito dal Programma Alimentare Mondiale dell’ONU (PAM), offre voli quotidiani verso varie destinazioni del Paese, in base alle necessità.
L’arrivo del Servizio Aereo Umanitario delle Nazioni Unite (UNHAS, UN Humanitarian Air Service) nella Repubblica Centrafricana è stato reso possible grazie a 150.000 dollari elargiti dal Fondo Centrale di Risposta alle Emergenze (CERF, Central Emergency Response Fund), il meccanismo pluri-milionario delle Nazioni Unite inaugurato quest’anno per fornire fondi per le attività umanitarie in risposta alle emergenze improvvise e sotto-finanziate.

UN launches new humanitarian air service in Central African Republic
The United Nations today launched a new humanitarian air service in the Central African Republic (CAR) to help humanitarian agencies reach up to 1 million people affected by violence in the north of the country.
The air service, managed by the UN World Food Programme (WFP), offers daily flights to destinations across the country, depending on needs.
The UN Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) arrival in CAR has been possible thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), the multi-million-dollar UN mechanism set up this year to provide funding for humanitarian activities in response to sudden-onset and under-funded emergencies.
