Il Consiglio dei Diritti Umani delle Nazioni Unite convoca una Sessione Speciale in seguito alle azioni di Israele a Gaza
Il Consiglio dei Diritti Umani delle Nazioni Unite convocherà una Sessione Speciale in seguito alle recenti azioni militari israeliane nei Territori Occupati Palestinesi, compreso l’ultimo attacco in cui sono rimasti uccisi 19 civili e feriti altri 60 a Beit Hanoun, a nord della Striscia di Gaza.
Un esperto indipendente in diritti umani delle Nazioni Unite ha respinto la spiegazione israeliana in base alla quale il bombardamento di Beit Hanoun è stato un errore, dichiarando che ci sono prove che suggeriscono una premeditazione.
“Gli ultimi massacri compiuti da Israele devono essere intesi come un avvertimento per la comunità internazionale, affinché si risvegli dall’inazione e l’esitazione che ha caratterizzato la sua attenzione nei confronti della grave crisi di Gaza,” ha dichiarato lo Special Rapporteur, Miloon Kothari, chiedendo l’attuazione di un’indagine internazionale indipendente e lo spiegamento di forze internazionali nella regione.

UN Human Rights Council to hold special session on Israel’s actions in Gaza
The United Nations Human Rights Council will hold a special session in response to Israel’s recent military actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including the recent attack that killed 19 civilians and injured 60 others in Beit Hanoun in the Northern Gaza Strip.
An independent United Nations human rights expert has rejected Israel’s explanation that its artillery shelling of Beit Hanoun was a mistake, saying it indicated premeditation.
The Special Rapporteur Miloon Kothari said “forced evictions and unjustifiable destruction” by Israeli forces constitute breaches of international human rights laws.
“These latest killings by Israel must act as a call for the international community to awaken from the inaction and hesitation that has marked its attention to the grave crisis in Gaza,” he said, calling for an international independent investigation and the deployment of international forces in the region.
