Fermare la sofferenza dei bambini somali
L’UNICEF e Save the Children del Regno Unito hanno oggi dichiarato che per fermare la sofferenza di migliaia di bambini somali è necessario ristabilire al più presto la pace e la sicurezza.
I bambini inoltre negli ultimi scontri si sono distinti come combattenti attivi. Entrambe le agenzie hanno invitato il Governo Federale di Transizione e le Istituzioni somale ad intraprendere le azioni necessarie affinché questi bambini vengano accuditi adeguatamente, e riuniti in modo sicuro alle loro famiglie senza discriminazioni.
L’UNICEF e Save the Children hanno affermato di essere sconvolti dai rapporti che dichiarano che fra le vittime dei bombardamenti aerei ci sono bambini e donne somali, e che riportano che i campi per gli sfollati sono fra gli obiettivi dei (prossimi) bombardamenti.

End the suffering of Somali children
Peace and stability are urgently needed in Somalia to end the suffering of thousands of Somali children, UNICEF and Save the Children UK said today.
Children have also featured in recent fighting as active combatants. Both agencies call upon the TFG and Somali Institutions to take the necessary steps to ensure these children are adequately cared for, and safely reunited with their families without discrimination.
UNICEF and Save the Children say they are very disturbed by reports that Somali children and women are among the casualties of aerial bombardment and accounts that camps for internally displaced people are coming under grenade attack.
