Il Consiglio di Sicurezza esorta alla calma dopo il ‘reprensibile’ attacco terroristico in Pakistan
Condannando l’attacco terroristico mortale che ha ucciso l’ex Primo Ministro Benazir Bhutto ed almeno 12 altre persone nella città del nord Rawalpindi, il Consiglio di Sicurezza delle Nazioni Unite ha chiesto ai Pakistani di mostrare freno sull’onda della tragedia di oggi.
In una dichiarazione letta dall’Ambasciatore Italiano Marcello Spatafora, che detiene la Presidenza di turno del Consiglio questo mese, i 15 membri hanno reso omaggio alla Signora Bhutto, leader del Partito del Popolo Pakistano, e chiesto che i colpevoli dell’attacco siano assicurati alla giustizia.
L’ex leader era già stata presa di mira in ottobre durante un attacco al suo convoglio nella città del sud Karachi che aveva ucciso più di cento persone.

Security Council urges calm following ‘reprehensible’ terrorist attack in Pakistan
Condemning the deadly terrorist attack that killed former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and at least a dozen others in the northern city of Rawalpindi, the United Nations Security Council called on all Pakistanis to show restraint in the wake of today’s tragedy.
In a statement read out by Ambassador Marcello Spatafora of Italy, which holds the Council’s rotating presidency for this month, the 15-member body paid tribute to Ms. Bhutto, leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, and called for all those behind the suicide attack to be brought to justice.
The former leader was previously targeted in October during an attack on her convoy in the southern city of Karachi that killed over 100 people.
