Chad: le Nazioni Unite esprimono ‘profonda preoccupazione’ per le decine di centinaia di sfollati a causa dei combattimenti
I combattimenti interni nel Chad orientale, vicino alla regione del Darfur, ha creato altri 20.000 sfollati Ciadiani nel corso delle ultime tre settimane, portando il numero degli sfollati interni (IDPs, internally displaced persons) a oltre 100.000, come dichiarato oggi dall’agenzia delle Nazioni Unite per i rifugiati.
L’Alto Commissariato delle Nazioni Unite per i Rifugiati (UNHCR, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) ieri ha inviato una missione tecnica a Gassire per valutare i bisogni degli sfollati. Le agenzie umanitarie, le cui attività erano state ridotte a causa dell’insicurezza, ora sono state ampliate eccessivamente.

Chad: UN voices ‘extreme concern’ for tens of thousands displaced by fighting
Inter-communal fighting in eastern Chad near Darfur region has uprooted another 20,000 Chadians within the past three weeks, bringing the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to over 100,000, the United Nations refugee agency reported today.
UNHCR yesterday sent a technical mission to Gassire to assess the IDPs’ needs. Humanitarian agencies, whose activities had already been reduced because of the insecurity, are now severely over-stretched.
