Ban Ki-moon invita i partiti libanesi a mettere da parte le proteste e a ritornare al dialogo
Il Segretario Generale delle Nazioni Unite ha invitato tutti i partiti libanesi a riprendere il dialogo per affrontare le loro differenze politiche dopo gli scontri nelle strade che hanno ripetutamente causato perdite di vite umane e feriti.
La conferenza dei donatori di Parigi cercherà di aiutare il Paese a riprendersi dalle devastazioni causate dagli scontri fra Israele e Hezbollah della scorsa estate. Ban, che parteciperà alla conferenza, ha rinnovato il sostegno delle Nazioni Unite a favore della stabilità, la sovranità, la sicurezza e l’indipendenza del Libano.
Ci sono stati sette sorvoli israeliani sul Libano effettuati da aerei da combattimento (israeliani) in violazione dell’accordo che in agosto ha posto fine alle ostilità. Ban si recherà a Washington per un meeting del Quartetto del Medio Oriente, che comprende le Nazioni Unite, gli Stati Uniti, la Federazione Russa e l’Unione Europea.

Ban Ki-moon urges Lebanese parties to turn away from protests and back to talks
United Nations Secretary-General called on all parties in Lebanon resume a dialogue to address their political differences after street confrontations that have reportedly caused loss of life and injuries.
The Paris donors’ conference will seek to help the country recover from the ravages of last summer’s between Israel and Hizbollah. Mr. Ban, who will attend the conference, reiterated the UN’s support for the stability, sovereignty, security and independence of Lebanon.
There had been seven Israeli overflights of Lebanon by Israeli warplanes in breach of the agreement which ended the hostilities in August. Mr. Ban will go to Washington for a meeting of the Middle East Quartet comprised of the UN, United States, Russian Federation and European Union.
