This four-day international seminar will bring together young representatives of the VIDES International network to work together, exchange and co-create VIDES International’s 2027–2030 four-year action plan to strengthen youth empowerment and participation.
Three main themes will be tackled during this activity: social inclusion, integral ecology, and digital communication.
Social inclusion will continue to focus on improving access to education, employment, healthcare, and equal opportunities, especially for marginalized youth. Integral ecology will broaden environmental action by recognizing the interconnectedness of social, economic, cultural, and ecological systems. Digital communication will address both the opportunities and risks of the online sphere, promoting safe digital engagement, preventing cyberbullying and online abuse, and ensuring a rights-based approach that empowers young people to claim and exercise their rights in the digital space.
The initiative aligns with the Council of Europe’s youth sector priorities, particularly in strengthening youth organisations’ capacity for democratic participation and promoting young people’s access to rights, including through human rights education.
The learning process and methodology will follow the non-formal education approach where young participants are not only the recipients and participants but they also actively contribute to the group learning process. The programme will be adapted to the needs and feedback of the project team, trainers and participants themselves, as well as to their background.
