Una bellissima iniziativa e una buona prassi da diffondere!
I’m pleased to share our most recent webinar for VIDES Pinoy volunteers.
With the objective of raising the awareness of volunteers on how to protect children from abuse and exploitation, VIDES Philippines conducted a webinar on FMA’s Child Protection Policy (CPP) last August 23, 2020.
Ms. Amalia Suzara, a Registered Social Worker, facilitated the seminar-workshop attended by twenty-four (24) participants. She discussed the importance of having a CPP; its four core components, namely: Awareness, Prevention, Reporting, and Responsibility; and lessons learned from encounters with actual and possible cases of child abuse and exploitation in the various communities that VIDES Philippines serves.
The webinar participants were also divided into four groups and asked to discuss what actions to take in case they encounter situations where children are abused, exploited, and discriminated. The group outputs were presented during the plenary session.
At the end of the webinar, the participants expressed their renewed commitment to be advocates of child protection.
